Jai Nepal Cinema Hall is one of the oldest and most recognized movie theaters in Kathmandu, located near Durbar Marg. For many years, it served as a popular destination for cinema audiences and became closely connected with Nepal's film culture by screening Nepali, Bollywood, and international movies. The hall carries strong nostalgic value for generations of moviegoers who experienced the classic single-screen theater era in Nepal.
Following several years of closure after the COVID-19 pandemic, Jai Nepal Cinema Hall reopened in May 2026 with renovated interiors and upgraded facilities. The theater now offers a modern viewing experience with 306 seats, including recliner, balcony, and regular categories. Ticket prices are set at Rs. 800 for recliner seats, Rs. 500 for balcony seating, and Rs. 350 for regular seats. The reopening of the historic cinema hall represents a significant revival of Kathmandu's traditional movie-going culture while preserving the legacy of one of Nepal's most iconic theaters.
Advance booking without payment is not available for this theater. Tickets can still be purchased directly.
